From an early age the weekly property page was rarely out of my hand. Since then I have maintained an enthusiastic approach to buildings and architecture. Growing up in the Lake District area, being outdoors pursued my great love of buildings and structures. With a constant sketchbook by my side from an early age I was constantly sketching and designing my ‘ideal’ house.

 

It wasn’t until my BArch degree in Architecture at Nottingham Trent University an interest in structures and the engineering behind it arose. A desire to create, draw and build is something I have always possessed. Upon graduation I desired to travel Italy, however in securing a placement at MB structures this was unable to happen and the desire to work took priority. The trip to Italy is still on the to do list, and in being in this industry you know too well, whatever is on the list gets done…it will happen someday!

 

The transition from architecture into structural engineering has broadened my range of knowledge of the architectural and structural fields. Enabling realistic yet unique design decisions to be calculated and created.
