My path to architectural design has been one not without its twists and turns. I have always had an interest in design, whether it be pulling apart a matchbox, consistently re-designing the layout of the rooms in my home or drafting the next London skyscraper. I find design in every aspect of my life and am intrigued by both the finer things and the mind blowing larger than life things within it.

Throughout college and my later years of junior study I aspired to become a graphic designer. However after completing a Foundation Art & Design Diploma at 18 and specialising in the 3 dimensional design pathway it soon became clear I had aspirations of designing in more than just 2 dimensions as a graphic designer but exploring a 3rd through the built form.

I pursued an architectural based career into small practices and found myself reverting back to my 2 dimensional ways whilst working as an architects assistant. This to and frowing was the case until I was offered an opportunity to combine both of my great enjoyments. I began work as an architectural designer for Bjarke Ingels Group in Denmark in 2018 and finally found my calling.

I soon had the itch to create from scratch, so along with my co-founders, The Design Collective was born. I am excited by its immediate potential as a architectural design firm specialising not just in the built environment but any aspect of design. Applying the skills we have as a collective to a multitude of projects with great variety, creating solutions that have one thing in common - “function is beautiful, we design what works”.
